How to Add a Minimum Order Amount to Your Checkout

Let’s hear it for ‘Minimum Order Amount’!

⚡️What is a ‘Minimum Order Amount’?

In the context of online competitions, a Minimum Order Amount refers to the lowest sum of money that you, as a site owner, allow your players to spend before they can make a purchase.

So, if you set your Minimum Order Amount to be £5, your players will need to have at least £5’s worth in their basket before they can checkout.

⚡️How Do You Enable a Minimum Order Amount?

  1. Head to the back-end of your website, and then to the left-hand side of your dashboard

  2. Click on ‘Zap’ and then ‘Cart & Checkout’

  1. Scroll down until you see ‘Enable Minimum Order Amount.’ If you do want players’ orders to meet a minimum total before checkout is allowed, then switch the toggle to say ‘Yes’

  2. Choose your ‘Minimum Order Amount’ (e.g. £5, which would mean players can’t place an order until it’s £5 or more)

  3. Select whether you want to ‘Allow Free Orders’ (this allows you to still run free comps and your players to use in-full site credit/cash). Your player’s basket will still need to be valued at at least £5 (if that’s your set Minimum Order Value) in order to complete their purchase. So if their basket is a combination of a free competition and 1x £2.50 comp, they’d have to add £2.50 more to their basket to hit that minimum £5 mark

Also, just so you know: the Minimum Order Amount is site-wide, and can’t be set on a per-competition basis.
