How to Upsell With Discounts and BOGO?
Sometimes, to incentivise an up-sell or a cross-sell, you’ll add a little discount. This means that those players who buy from both the original competition and the one you’ve upsold them, get a cheeky bit of money off. Lovely. Here’s how.
⚡️ How To Upsell with Discounts
In the ‘Product Data’ sidebar, go to ‘Discount Rules’:
2. You'll be directed to this page:
3. You can disable or enable the Buy-One-Get-One-Free (BOGO) offer by clicking the first drop-down menu. Once you click it, you’ll be able to choose the TYPE of offer: so, whether the customer is entitled to a free version of the same product, or something else. This will bring up a few more options, relevant to the type of product you’ve selected.
How to BOGO for the Same Competition
If you want the free option to be part of the same competition, this is what you do:
Next to ‘BOGO Offer Type,’ select ‘Same Product’
Then you choose the ‘Buy Quantity’. This refers to how many tickets the customer has to buy before they’re entitled to a BOGO. For example, entering ‘4’ here means it’s a buy-four-get-one-free competition.
Specify the ‘Get Quantity’. This refers to how many free items the customer gets, and works on the same principle as ‘Buy Quantity’.
You can automate the amount of time the discount runs for. Next to ‘Discount Start’ and ‘Discount End’, there are drop-down calendars to help you select this date.
Under that, you can specify particular times of day, and days of the week, too, if you want.
