How Zap Pay and Zap Cashier Work Together

How Zap Pay and Zap Cashier Work Together

Did you know we just launched our very own Payment Gateway, Zap Pay? 🎉

With a new product launch comes a bunch of questions, and we’re here to help with all of them.  First, a big one…

⚡️What is Zap Pay?

Zap Pay is a Payment Gateway — or, in other words, it's the process that securely allows businesses like yours to accept card payments. We've created this integration in partnership with DNAPayments, a leading payment provider in the UK.

But Zap Pay is more than just a simple Payment Gateway. It's a shift from manual bank transfers to automated payouts. It's highly secure, boosts gamification, and allows for more efficient customer service.

Those are just a few benefits (you can find more in our 'All About Zap Pay' article), but okay, we'll share another one with you. You'll get access to Zap Cashier and our other cool features with it.

⚡️Zap Pay and Zap Cashier: What's the Link?

Zap Cashier is a digital wallet where your winners/customers get their site credit and cash paid into. We previously used TerraWallet for this, but you'll be happy to know that Zap Cashier has far more reliable analytics (yet another reason for you to transfer to Zap Pay!).

What kind of analytics, you ask? Well…

In the past, with other payment providers, when customers used their existing credits to make a purchase, that transaction was counted in the Revenue Reports despite no new money being spent. This led to misleading, higher revenue figures. Nobody likes those.

You know what we do like, though? Accuracy. Zap Cashier ensures accuracy. We use coupons instead of credits, so these transactions aren't mistakenly added to the Revenue Report. Your Report will reflect your actual revenue, as it should!

⚡️Where TrueLayer Comes into Play…

TrueLayer (Europe's leading online banking platform) is integrated into Zap Cashier.

This means that if your customer wins, say, a £1000 cash prize, they can automatically withdraw this money into their bank account. That's right — manual bank transfers are a thing of the past with Zap Pay. Isn't that cool?

To enable this exciting feature, you'll have to sign up for TrueLayer, Zap Pay, and Zap Cashier. Fear not, signing up doesn't take too long.

If you're curious about the application process, you'll be happy to know we have an article dedicated to that, too.  As a result, your customer will have a holding account with TrueLayer, where a pot of their withdrawn money will sit. You can also pick a minimum and maximum withdrawal threshold for your customers; there’s more in your control.
