What To Do If Your Graphics Aren't Showing Right
Website issues with no clear root problem are always an interesting mystery to solve. Especially graphics.
Ah, graphics are the greatest mystery of them all! If they’re not working properly, you’re always wondering why.
Why aren’t they loading properly? Why are they of poor quality? Why are they not showing up on mobile? Why, why, why.
They can be real head-scratchers.
But these aren’t for you to worry about. That’s what you’ve got us for. We’re the Sherlock Holmes of issues like this, but we’ll happily break them down for you. Who knows? You might end up becoming a trouble-shooter by the end of this article.
⚡️Browser Issues
First, browser-related issues. Oh, boy, there’s a lot! There’s so much trial and error with this one — if one tip doesn’t work, you’ll have to continue trying until you find the one. Here’s a list of things for you to try:
Clear cache and cookies: No, we don’t recommend clearing the cookies by eating them (unless you really want to). Doing this removes temporary files stored by your browser, and might help you if your images aren’t loading
Check browser settings: Do this to ensure that images are enabled to be shown in your browser
Update your browser: Very similar to your classic ‘turn it off and on again,’ but if it works, it works! Outdated browsers can have compatibility issues, causing them to not load images correctly
Disable extensions: Some extensions can impede how images are displayed on websites. Have a go at temporarily disabling them to see if it fixes the issue
⚡️Website Issues
Every so often, the problem is on the website itself. First, let’s look at JavaScript. Make sure it’s enabled. This is very important, as it’s often used to load and display images. If you’ve tried that and the browser-related tips but the issue persists, let us know. We’ll work on it for you. Sometimes, all it is is a silly, elusive setting that’s causing these problems.
⚡️Other Potential Issues
…And sometimes, the solutions to the graphic problems are right in front of our noses. Whether it’s an unstable internet connection or a firewall software blocking the image, these tend to be quick and easy fixes. Still, if you need any help, don’t be a stranger! We can take a look at it for you.
