How to Access ‘Reveal the Winner’ and How Do I Edit My Reveal The Winner Settings?

‘Reveal the Winner’ is a bit hush-hush; it’s an internal webpage link that can only be accessed by admins.  To access it, you need to add ‘/reveal-the-winner’ at the end of your URL, so the whole URL will be: dev.zapcompetitions.co.uk/reveal-the-winner 

Save this to your bookmarks so it’s easily accessible when you’re doing live draws.  Once you’re on this webpage:

1. Select your competition

2. Scroll down, and you’ll notice a branded page

3. Enter a ticket number (the numbers provided by Google’s Random Number Generator)

4. Click ‘Check Number’

If the ticket is unsold, you’ll see a sad smiley with a text that reads ‘No winner this time!’  If you have a winner, though, you’ll see a happy smiley with the message: ‘We have a winner!’ — yay! You’ll also see confetti, which you can customise to your brand colours if you wish to.  This is where you need to go:

1. In the back-end of your site, head to WooCommerce (in the left-hand side dashboard)

2. Click on ‘Settings’

3. Navigate to ‘Zap Competitions’, and then ‘Reveal the Winner’

You can also add audio, like a sound effect, if you want to make the experience just a tad more exciting for your winner.

If you’re happy with this winner, click ‘Confirm Winner’ and it’ll create a winner’s post for you. You can check this out by going back into the back-end:

1. Go to ‘Competitions’ on the left-hand side of your dashboard in the back-end of your site

2. Click on ‘Winners’

3. You’ll see your Competition, and the winning ticket number

4. Click on ‘Edit’, and you’ll see all the information that you’re looking for about the winner (e.g. their name, draw date, product title, winner category, user ID, etc.)

You also have the choice to add a Winner’s Photo, which would replace the default photo of the competition with its winner! How lovely is that?
