How To Select A Winner and How To Create / Edit a Winners Post

Oh, boy, oh boy! It's prize draw time. Here's how to choose a winner (fairly, mind!)

Before you do any of the following, you'll need to get your random number generator tool to select a winning ticket. Then you'll need to follow these instructions to ensure that this winning ticket belongs to someone who answered the multiple choice quiz question right. These are the guys who are entitled to win.

1. Log in to the back end of your site

2. Navigate to the left-hand sidebar

3. Hover over ‘Competitions’, and click on ‘All Competitions’

4. You'll see a list of all the competitions that have been created

5. Click on the competition you want to view. Now, you’ll be able to see a list of all the tickets that have been purchased. You'll also see three tabs:

Click on 'Results'

6. At the top of the tab, there's a search bar. Type in the ticket number of the result you want to find. It will filter out all the numbers that are not typed in

7. Type in the winning ticket number.

8. Make sure the system pulled up the exact same ticket number as the one you typed, and not found a match in the User ID column instead. 

9. Hover over the ‘Ticket ID’ part of the list 

10. You’ll see a blue link flash up, reading ‘Make Winner’. Click on this

11. A popup will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to make the person a winner. Select ‘Ok’

12. It will take you to 'Post a Winner.' Once you've selected a winner, it's time to post about it. Luckily, this process is largely automatic. There's just a few things you need to do. And, look at that, here they are now.

1. Once you’ve clicked on ‘Make Winner’, the system will offer you this page:

This is the Winner’s Post page. 

2. Information about the winner should be populated already, as you got to this page by clicking through the relevant ticket number. However, if you need to, you can always make edits here by typing in the boxes.

3. You’ll see that the Competition Image is populated here, by default. This is the image that will show as part of the winner’s post.

If the winner has sent over a picture, it’s better to use that. You can replace the default image by clicking on the picture, and selecting the new one from the gallery that comes up.

4. Make sure you click ‘Update’ in the box on the top right of the screen to save your progress.

4. Click on the winner whose post you want to edit

5. Now it's up to you what you want to edit, and most of it is fairly self-explanatory. Just click where you want to edit, make the changes, and click 'Update' to save.

6. If it's images you want: click on the image

7. It'll take you to a page to upload a new image 8. Click 'Update'
